I Threw the Photographs out
Live on my own in the same house that we both used to share Kids have moved out, the long days never seem to end Sometimes a thought occurs to me, I’ll rush to speak to you Then I realise that you are gone, the best years of my life are through
I feel like my soul’s flying above the clouds, trying to escape to space There’s nothing left down here on earth, now you’re gone without a trace I want the wind to sweep me away, there’s no future on earth but tears I threw the photographs out cos they make cry and just wish I could turn back the years
This sadness makes me question the meaning of it all The solitude is painful, it’s just me inside these walls Then for a moment in my mind, I’ll see your smiling face Of all the millions of people here on earth there’s only one I can’t replace
I feel like my soul’s flying above the clouds, trying to escape to space There’s nothing left down here on earth, now you’re gone without a trace I want the wind to sweep me away, there’s no future on earth but tears I threw the photographs out cos they make cry and just wish I could turn back the years
