Walking Down the Same Road

Time and time again I’m walking down the same road

The flowers in the jar wilt but the sun never gets old Every time I stand up straight, I buckle at the load I always seem to find myself walking down that road

Time and time again I’m walking down the same road

The wrinkles on my face show I need someone to hold I need to come back to the warmth, out from the cold I always seem to find myself walking down that road

All the fields pass me by

I keep on, happy living a lie

Time and time again, I’m walking down the same road

Can’t learn my lesson, no matter what I’m told If the Lord cut me a break, he’d have me bought and sold Then I wouldn’t be still walking down that road

Time and time again I’m walking down the same road

I lost him in the passage of time, found her to hold I wiped the slate clean, finally broke the mold Now I’m no longer walking down that road
